Ballet: A walk in the park

Last Saturday I met up with Christhiam, Douglas and Fernando from Estudio Aldoca here in León.  It had been a long day and the light was fading along with my hopes of getting any decent shots. Luckily, I was proved wrong.

To take pictures of dancers is to be constantly looking for the milliseconds of pure perfection. Any blur in the shot and the moment is ruined. To capture these moments it helps to have lots of light. Thankfully, by pushing my camera the limits of it’s ISO (light sensitivity) and a healthy serving of photoshop later I managed to capture what I wanted.

I have never been a massive fan of postcard perfect pictures of landmarks but this day provided a great opportunity to include elements of the city’s most famous structures. Walking around the central park offered up a gold mine of complementary backdrops and different angles. It was a pleasure to spend the evening with talented people in wonderful space.

I hope you enjoy.
